Why WECEF exists

The labor shortage

The US faces a major shortage of electricians and low voltage techs as the workforce ages and demand grows. WECEF expands educational opportunity to help close the gap.

Developing technologies

Smart equipment and digital tools are transforming the trades. WECEF supports the continuing education that keeps workers ahead of the technology curve.

Diversity & outreach

Through outreach to schools, career programs, women, and underrepresented groups, WECEF works to build an industry that looks like the West it serves.

Scholarships

WECEF periodically awards scholarships to eligible Electrician Trainees, Apprentices, and Journeyperson CE students — help with books, tools, fees, and tuition. Eligibility and applications at wecef.org.
