Which courses qualify
Courses relevant to the certification category you're renewing count toward your 32 hours. All of WECA's CE courses qualify for both General and Residential categories, and many qualify for VDV and Fire/Life Safety technicians — check the low voltage category in the course catalog, or call for non-residential lighting recommendations.
Renewal, in short
Within each three-year cycle you need 2,000 hours worked in the industry and 32 hours of relevant CE, submitted to the DAS with your renewal application before your card expires. Let it lapse and you're back to ET registration and retaking the exam — don't let it lapse. Full details on the certification page.
Out-of-state journeypersons
Arizona has no CE requirement, but journey workers there still enroll with WECA to refresh their knowledge, study new topics, or add certifications like OSHA. (WECA's CE hours are state-approved for California.)
